The typical upgrades were performed until there has been a need for a reboot, because the running kernel was already “old” and the server got messed up.
I’ve had to compile an old [LTS version][1] of the Linux kernel in my personal computer for 13 hours straight (I almost didn’t sleep), but thankfully it was worth the while.
